Canon 30D w/EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens
This is my baby. I take this camera with me everywhere! I love it. I’m still using the 18-55mm lens that came stock with it, which isn’t the greatest. It has done a very good job though. I know there are far better lens out there, I just haven’t bought them yet. I plan on buying most of the Canon L Series Lenses; eventually.
I’ve had this camera about 4 or 5 years now and have had absolutely no problems with it.
Nikon Coolpix 5700
This was my second digital camera. It was my first step into more advanced ProSumer Photography. I still really like this camera although for action shots it can be a bit slow. Especially after shooting action shots with the Canon 30D. This camera takes some really beautiful pictures.
These days it is super affordable and has huge bang for the buck. I recommend it for anybody who wants to go from a point in shoot to a little bit more advanced hobbyist photography.
GoPro Hero 1
My GoPro is used for Skydiving 90 percent of the time. I started taking it on my travels when we went and dove with the Whale Sharks in Exmouth, Western Australia, Australia. The underwater housing is a really cool feature and works very well. The GoPro works awesome for snorkeling too. I recently used it while Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.
GoPro Hero 2

My most recent addition. The GoPro Hero 2 is a kick ass little camera. I use it for anything from jumping, snorkeling, as a regular video camera and making videos with my Pooch. Awesome camera, you should get one if you don’t have one already.
MacBook Pro 15 Inch
If you travel; you gotta get a Mac. Even if you don’t travel; you gotta get a Mac. The last thing you want while you are writing, blogging, Tweeting and Facebooking about your awesome travels, is a computer that doesn’t work. Yes, I’m talking to you my PC friends.
Hey now, I’ve been using a PC since the early 90′s and still do. But not for Traveling!
I turn my MacBook Pro on and can start writing to you from Paradise.
Macs. They Really do Just Work.
iPhone 3GS
iPhones are awesome. You really gotta get one. I know, I know, my lil iPhone 3GS is Old School now but it still serves me very well. I will be upgrading to the iPhone 5 when it is finally released.
When you are over seas and don’t have a sim, just find yourself a Hot Spot and send email to family and friends to fill them in on your latest travel adventures. Google Maps, GPS, WiFi you really can’t go wrong.
Any smart phone will do you very good on your travels though. You really shouldn’t travel without one.
I recently sent an email and a photo from my iPhone 3GS while on a Hot Air Balloon.
Jansport Backpack
This is my Jansport Backpack. I take this thing with me everywhere! I’ve been using it for over 11 years. Almost 12 years now. I never thought it would have lasted as long as it has. I got it as a gift in 2000 right before I went overseas for the first time.
What’s awesome about this bag is the rubber bottom. I thought it looked dorky at first but it has not worn out. If this bag had a regular bottom it would have surely worn out years ago.
I love this bag.
Only recently on my trip to Vanuatu I noticed that one of the seems had come undone. I thought it was time to retire it. No way! I’ve decided I’m going to get it sewn back together; industrial strength style!
My plan is to get the whole bag covered with more flag patches by different countries.
Please note that the link on my bag goes to a Jansport Bag that is different then mine which is pictured above. I looked for the same bag but didn’t find it. I don’t’ think they make this bag anymore.
