Coke Is It! It doesn’t take long to find Coca Cola bottles on the bottom of the ocean floor when snorkeling or diving Million Dollar Point. We found this little guy in only a few minutes, who know’s how long it’s been there for. More on Million Dollar Point and Vanuatu This is an excellent [...]
One of the Best Beaches Ever This is the beach that we had the privilege to wake up to while staying at the Towoc Bungalows – it’s just unreal. As you can see the water is crystal clear and the sand is very white and very soft – very enticing. The temperature of the water [...]
Tusker and Deep Fried Coconut The fried coconut was really good (but really bad). Surprisingly, it tasted very similar to popcorn. A nice way to end our journey, but sad to go…
Land Diving for 2012 is Complete Today is the last day of the Land Diving tradition on Pentecost Island. I only thought it would be appropriate to post one of my favorite photos from that unforgettable day from earlier this June. Be in the Moment I think this photos really sums it up for me. [...]
Pentecost Island Problem I love my little Canon 300HS, I probably love it too much. I decided to treat myself and bought the 300HS back in Chicago earlier this year. I bought it because while I absolutely cherish my Canon 30D, let’s face it. It’s a royal pain to lug around a DSLR all day [...]
Trekking through the Jungle Following the river to the Magical Waterfall and taking some shots along the way. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility that engulfed us along the way. The views were magnificent and the water cool and refreshing.
White Sand and Warm Water Port Olry which is famous for it’s pristine white sand beach and it’s snorkeling. The water is warm, the sand is soft and the ocean is inviting. One can’t resist taking a dip. Does it compare to Whitehaven Beach?
Very Heavy Canoes As one would expect these wooden canoes are very heavy and take a long time to make. The amount of time and work that goes into making one of these is extensive. A proper tree must be found first, then once the required part of the tree is chopped down it is [...]
Take a Breather! An old man takes a break after marching back and forth and chanting with the other land divers. He later climbed half way up the land diving tower and spoke to in his native tongue.
Espirtu Santo, Vanuatu Our first breakfast at the Tuwoc Bungalows was on a bright, sunny morning and very warm morning. It was served to us in the fresh open air with only a moments walk to the beach. This was our first breakfast here and I didn’t know what it would be or what to [...]
The Blue Waters of Matevulu There are three Blue Holes on the island of Espirtu Santo and they are just unreal. These tranquil, mystical, turquoise lagoons have something magical and mysterious about them that you have to see to believe. The crystal clear blue waters are irresistible and we dove right in! Matevulu Blue Hole [...]
Waterfall Village These incredible falls are tucked away at Waterfall Village on Pentecost Island. They’re roughly 150 feet (45 meters) and offer a very cool and refreshing swimming hole at the bottom. You really do feel like you are in prehistoric times when swimming here.

Nambas This White Man very proudly displays his Nambas that were hand made and given to him by one of the Chiefs on Pentecost Island. He was very, very comfortable wearing them. A friend an an ex-Land Diver put it: “He’s not shy at all.” After picking up his backpack and his sac, he disappeared [...]
